As an educator I feel that we as parents need to give our children the best possible start to life. For me, this means providing my children with many different opportunities to learn and explore. Whether it be in our environment, through books or from other children…learning is always happening.
I also want to make sure that my children are on tract to be successful when starting school. This is why I have created these ‘Watch Me Grow’ printables. As a former teacher and parent educator, I know that providing experiences are important. For example, we expect a young toddler to learn to use a spoon when eating. This is something that he/she would never be able to learn if you, the parent, did not provide a spoon and the scoopable food.
I use these printables by putting them in order in a file folder and stapling them at the top. Every week or two I go through the list for my child’s age level and highlight all the skills I have seen him complete. Simple and easy. But, it also reminds me of the opportunities I need to provide him with to help him learn.
