Fall Clipboard Surveys!

I created some NEW Clipboard Surveys for the fall and they are now available in my Teacher’s Notebook store!  I loved using the Getting to Know you Clipboard Surveys in my preschool classroom last year. Now, here is a set perfect for the months of September through November. {click picture to learn more}

Each student in my classroom had a job and the Survey Taker was one of the jobs.  {Want to learn more about my classroom jobs?}

20 Easy to Implement Classroom Jobs
Survey Taker:  A fun job that leads to early math skills!  The Survey Taker's job is to ask each student in the class the same question.   Example: Have you ever rode in an airplane? Then, the survey taker uses the survey to record what each child says.  A great time to do this is before circle time.  Once it is circle time, the Survey Taker presents his/her results to the class.  This is a great time to use comparisons of more/less, least/most.

Is your name on your paper?

Miss Kindergarten (aka Hadar) is having a fun linky party all about singing songs with students.

Boy, I can relate!!  I sing EVERYTHING (I learned this trick from one of the best first grade teachers I know, Mrs. Maron) and it sure does work!

When teaching preschool last year I came up with a short little song/chant to getting kids excited about putting their name on their paper {a necessity for all classrooms}.

Here is goes...

If your name is on your paper shout hooray, HOORAY! (children shout hooray)
If your name is on your paper, If your name is on your paper,
If your name is on your paper, shout hooray,  HOORAY!

My pre-k kiddos LOVED this song and you better believe they ALL had their names on their papers!  Side Note: I always warned them that I would be singing the song soon.

Another song/chant I used a lot was when the students were in line and I was ready to get them prepared for the hall.

My hands are tucked behind my back
I'm standing straight and tall.
My eyes are looking toward the front,
I'm ready for the hall.

Thanks for stopping by!

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Day #2

Hope ya'll had a good 4th of July!  Sorry this is a little late, we slept late today!

I LOVE me some Story Props!  I will share my Story Props box soon...but now I want to share my story props for

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom

First up, I created this fun retelling and letter activity using a cookie sheet.  It was very easy to create.  Just print out a coconut tree graphic and tape it on.  Add magnetic letters and WALAA!

I also created this cool coconut tree to be used on a felt board.  I just free handed it, cut it out and glue together with craft clue.  I found these felt letters already cut out at the dollar store, but that was several years ago!

Can't wait to see all your fun ideas during the Linky Party coming Friday :)
