Summer Preschool Packet

The end of the school year is drawing near.  While the end of the school year brings a relazing summer break, it is also particularly sad because I will not be teaching preschool next year.  I decided to stay home and be a caregiver to some wonderful kiddos.  So, I am trying to enjoy my last month of school as I head back to my classroom after taking maternity leave.

With the end in sight it is time to start thinking about Summer Packets.  I sent home summer packets when I taught first grade and when I parent educator and this year shall be no different!

I got some great inspiration and printables at PreKinders {LOVE this site!}. 

Here is what I plan on including in my Summer Preschool Packet that I will send home with each student at the end of the year:

-Parent Letter

-A fun pencil, eraser and pencil squishy

-Pipe cleaners (for letter formation)

-A die (for game playing)

-Extra Weekly Readers

-Writing Practice Pages (I am using the review sheet from our handwriting curriculum, Handwriting without Tears)

-Name formation practice pages (these were made for each student at the Handwriting without Tears website)

-The following printables are from PreKinders-

-Learning Activities for Summer



-Rhyming Cards



-Grid Game



-Ocean Animal Race Game



-Summer Book Bingo

I plan on having my students help me create these Summer Packets.  Each student will get a ziploc with thier name on it.  Then we will form an assembly line to fill the packets, after I have explained all the components in the packet.  I am hoping by including my students in creating the packet then the more interest they will have in using it at home!

Circles, Circles Everywhere!

Shout-Out! Little Literacy Learners

I love finding new blogs!  Many of them I find when reading the blogs that I currently follow.  So, I thought I would do some SHOUT-OUTS

for some awesome blogs that you might love too!

First up...

   As a former first grade teacher, literacy was a big part of my job and continues to be a big love of mine.Mrs. Mc from Little Literacy Learners is a Reading Teacher working with students in grades K-4.  She has my dream job!  Check out some of the great ideas I found at Little Literacy Learners   Road RaceA fun game to practice sight words, letters or even number recognition.   Cheez-It Spelling This is a great idea using the Scrabble Cheez-its to practice CVC words.  Letter Formation Practice This was created for use with the Handwriting without Tears program.  Which, we use at the preschool I teach at.  I LOVE it for pre-k students!!!  Good stuff huh?!?  Head on over to Little Literacy Learners and take a look for yourself!

April Song Charts and Sensory Tub

Spring is in the air and Easter is coming!  We are singing and playing with eggs, chicks and bunnies!  Check out our April songs and sensory tub!

This month I added green Easter grass, foam egg ornaments, colorful Easter eggs (all from the Dollar Tree) and some cute little bunny erasers!  My wonderful substitute teacher added treasures for the kiddos to find inside some of the eggs.  She said this sensory tub was a big hit!

I am Ashley and I am the creator of Me & Marie Learning~ Printables for Preschoolers.  In addition to blogging here, I also sell printables in PDF form in my online store. 

I am a mom to two kiddos- C who is 3 years old and our newest baby boy who is currently 1 month old.  My husband is a middle school teacher and is the backbone of our family- he is amazing!  I am a former first grade teacher, who took off to be home with the kiddos.  I love being home with them!  I also teach preschool 2 days a week and really enjoy it!
